Mexico DF, Day 1

So, we arrived in Mexico DF yesterday… and went straight from the airport to the nearest taqueria to give Ailin her taco fix, and me my Negra Modelo (dark beer) fix!! And by straight there, I mean standing in traffic for 1 hour (at 7:30pm at night)!!!

If anything, since the last time we were here, the traffic has gotten worse (which I never thought possible). I realised how much I missed the place… where last time it was all new and a bit scary, this time I think I’m going to really enjoy myself. The food is awesome, and the weather (although fresh) is not rainy (as SBS would have you believe).

We are staying at Ailin’s friends house, which is a brand new 3 bedroom apartment in a very nice neighbourhood close to everything. To get to this net cafe, cost $20 pesos (or $2 dollars!!!!) OH and the limes in the restaurants are FREE!!!!!!

AIlin’s family got a surprise last night when we announced that we had gotten engaged… (did I mention that to anyone else? If not.. AIlin and I are engaged!!!)

Tomorrow we head off to Puerto Vallarta, and will fill you in on all the goss once we get there.

    That was meant to be ascii art of a heart, but it didn’t turn out so well :(
    Oh well, back to the drawing board – after another few days work on it I’m sure I can make a better one.

    I totally understand the limes thing though – limes are awesome, and way too expensive here!! Just be careful in customs – I can just see you in a months time on “border security” getting your limes and MaxAir confiscated ;)
