Ruby on rails

So, im sure im probably about a year behind the rest of the world… but I have started in ernest to learn the magic and mystery of Ruby on rails. For those (like me) in a wooden box with no window, Ruby is a server language (like PHP or *cough* ASP) and Rails is a framework that helps plebs like me to develop things faster and stronger.

Anyway, as part of my role at Red Ant I’ll now be honing my skills and posting some interesting experiments and progress reports as I go. I’ll be using Instant Rails, which has Apache, Ruby, MySQL, Rails, et al, all rolled into one small little folder. No nasty installs to worry about. I’ll prob use SqlYog to modify my databases, and a basic text editor for the code.

Back in the game…

Yes, it’s been a long LONG time, and I kept promising myself I’d be more active and motivated, but life has always gotten in the way. Well, now I have no excuses, and I plan to drop a line into the void much more often than I have in the past 2 years (which is kinda easy cause anything is better than zero !!)

Anyway, im embarking on a brave new world of Ruby, continuing the Flash epic, and trying ever so hard to get out there and see the world… all of which I intend to share with whoever cares :) I’ll also attempt to categorise stuff well enough so that if you couldnt care less about my life, but just want to see cool stuff, you can skip the boring parts!

Right, so welcome to You wish you were here and I hope you enjoy your stay…

Frank & Irene’s wedding

We were very lucky to celebrate our great friends Australian wedding last weekend. Fortunately Sydney put on a beatiful day, and we all had a great time :) Even though this was version 2.0 (they had already celebrated with family in Germany and Sweden), this was just as special. Here are just a few piccies of the day.
